USCIS launches new appointment system for immigration procedures

The United States Citizenship and Immigration Service has launched a new online form for individuals, attorneys, and accredited representatives to request an appointment in person at their local office without having to call the contact center.

This form is expected to improve the customer experience by collecting the required information in advance and potentially scheduling the requested appointment without having to contact the USCIS contact center.

According to a statement shared by the USCIS, this new online appointment request form allows individuals or legal representatives to request an appointment in person only at a field office, for Documentation Stamps Alien, Identity and Telecommunications (ADIT), emergency advance parole, immigration judge grants and more.

However, the agency clarifies that this new form “is NOT a self-scheduling tool and individuals cannot schedule their own appointments with USCIS.”

“The USCIS Contact Center will review submitted forms and the availability of in-person appointments at a specific field office. Individuals may request a specific date and time for an in-person appointment, but USCIS cannot guarantee that the requested appointment date will be scheduled,” notes the statement.

US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) will confirm and schedule the individual for an available in-person appointment date and time. USCIS also notes that the contact center may contact the applicant, by phone or mail, depending on the reason for the appointment and the urgency.

For more information about the online appointment request form, visit the appointments section of the USCIS web portal.
